The Story
Asmodeus approaches Mephisto himself, offering to lift the ‘Ghost Rider’ problem from Mephisto’s shoulders. Of course Mephisto understands the duplicity, and proposes a contest whereby Ghost Rider – Zarathos – could win his freedom if he succeeds (with a ‘small penalty’ accruing to Asmodeus). Or, if he fails, Ghost Rider becomes Asmodeus’ servant! Using the Sword of Demonicus, Mephisto separates Ghost Rider from Blaze. Now they must – together – reach a portal to Mephisto’s domain, evading all traps. And if they do, Ghost Rider will be freed of Blaze! They evade deadly enemies from Zarathos’ past, Asmodeus’ illusions, and a mountain of avaricious souls! Only by working together do they succeed, but… when they pass through the gate together they are once again fused! And Asmodeus? His ‘small penalty’, exacted by Mephisto, is oblivion.
